Eu sou grata por vocês em minha vida. Eu sei que o evangelho de Jesus Cristo e verdadeira. Eu sei que Deus nos ama!!
I
cannot believe that I have already been in the mission field for a
whole transfer! Sister Ferriera got transfered yesterday, so now it is
just me and Sister Oliveria with one set of Elders in União. I am
excited to continue working with the people here, and having two huge
areas worth of people to love!
We visited a
pesquisador (Analu) this past week who we hadnt visited since we got
put into a trio. The last time she was taught was when I did a division
with Sister Ferriera when we werent companions, and she was closed off
to the gospel. She didnt care to go to church or really continue
learning about what we had to teach. But this time she was completely
open and willing and eager to hear everything about the gospel! She had
been praying a lot and really felt as though this is the church for her.
She wants to learn all about the temple and gospel, and how everything
works. I was soo surprised that this was the same investigator and that
she was truly being prepared to fully accept the gospel. She came with
us to a baptism on Saturday and church on Sunday!
You guys, things dont happen in our timing because we are so imperfect.
I know that Heavenly Father truly knows everything and has a plan for
everyone! And now is when Analu is ready and prepared to accept His
gospel! We set a baptismal date with her for the 1st, and I could not be
more excited for her!
There was a baptism this past Saturday
for Maria Inez, who has been investigating the church for a solid 7
months. My first day in the field we had lunch at her house, and I had
no idea that she wasnt a member! It was so cool seeing her so happy with
all of her family and friends and that she was finally able to be
baptized! She bore her testimony after wards and oh man. The spirit is
real, and the gospel changes and blesses lives!! There is no other way
to say it or explain it, but I just want everyone to have this kind of
happiness that the gospel brings!
We were
walking home and saw an ice cream man and couldnt resist. So we get ice
cream, and this guy is super into talking, and we get talking about the
gospel, naturally. And he could not stop looking at me for some reason,
and was trying to converse with me, and I have no idea what he is
saying. So my companions reply to his questions and such, and he
continues to look at me. He ended up saying that he has seen me before
walking around, and that he recognized me but not my companions. Which
is strange because I am always with them! But it made me realize that
people notice me and the things I do, even if I dont recognize them. I
promise I look the same as people here, so its not that he thought I was
American from the way I look. It made me realize that I have to be more
aware of the way that I act and that people truly do notice a
difference! So be an example, and talk to everyone, and love those who
you are surrounded by!
It rained and thundered
a good majority of the day yesterday, and on our way to an
investigators house I fell into a puddle. Literally biffed it. But its
all good because this was the first time and it was bound to happen
sooner or later!
I love you all and could not
be more grateful for your emails and cards and packages and support!!
Brasil is amazing, and the people are even better. I hope you all have
the best week, and make the most of it! Study your scriptures, say your
prayers, and perseverar ate o fim.
Sister Albertoni
