This
is the last week of my first transfer, and I cannot believe how fast it
has gone by! I am so blessed to be in the Reuniao as my primera area!
President
Spencer W. Kimball said, "God does notice us, and He watches over us.
But it is usually through another person that He meets our needs". And
that could not be more true! Every day I am realizing how truly blessed I
am to be surrounded by the people that I need right now. So I figured I
might as well tell you about all of the blessings in my life agora!
Irmao
MIlton (aka Tor, but they really mean Thor!) He is a member, and the
greatest guy in town. Whenever we need a ride he is always willing to
hook us up. Especially now that we have two areas to cover, we just call
him and he comes to the rescue! And every time we have lunch at his
house with his family he gives us chocolate. Literally a heaven sent
man.
Irma Sandra. Just got done having pizza
at her house! She is the sweetest old lady and she is always wanting to
make us pão de quesjo, which is one of my favorite foods here for sure.
She is less active, and has such a happy attitude and I just love
talking to her! This past week when we went over to her house she had
jello and pao de quesjo ready for us! And then she was telling us about
this young man who works at a grocery store, who has a thing for
american girls. So she is talking about how this guy wants to come over
next time we eat there because I´´m american and I guess he has seen me
around?! Literally the funniest thing and we could not stop laughing.
Then
there is a new investigator, Allan who is 22 and literally a super
star. He is so good at keeping commitments and he has a genuine desire
to learn about the gospel! We just met him this past week and he came
with us to a baptism, and he was at church yesterday!! He has a friend,
Lucas, (who speaks english!!) that he brought with to the baptism. So
he´s already inviting his friends to learn about the gospel as well! It
is so crazy how things work out, and I really hope that he continues to
progress!
The other day we were trying to find
the house of a less active member for a solid two hours in the sun.
Finally, after we had back tracked a billion times and asked 5 different
people for directions, we found the house. And get this, it turns out
the less active members had moved a week before!! But it was a good
experience and made me realize the importance of street signs and good
directions.
I truly love being a missionary! It
is hands down the hardest thing, but I am learning so much every day! I
know that Heavenly Father loves His children. I know that He is wanting
and waiting to bless you with the things you stand in need of! I also
know that He sees the bigger picture and that the things that happen are
for our benefit.
I love you all loads and I could not be more thankful for all the love and support I continually receieve!
Sister Albertoni
