FELIZ NATAL

We went to the houses of pesquisadores, recent converts, and menos ativos for natal and christmas eve and sang hymns. We have been visiting Guilermie, recent convert, and his sisters ever since I got here. Ana beli will be turning 8 in January and wants to get baptized!

Merry Christmas! I love you all so much and I cannot tell you how blessed I am to have you all in my live! Being a missionary is my favorite thing and Christmas in Brasil is great. It was super hot and rained for christmas eve and christmas! I know that our Savior lives and I know that this church is true. I hope you all had the greatest christmas, and have an even better new year!

Deus amo voces

December 12, 2016

I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

We met 10 new investigatores this week!!! And it all came from stopping every single person we pass. I have realized that life is not easy and that if you want something you have to do everything in your power to receive it. Heavenly Father will only do his part when we put forth and give ours.

We were making a contact with Celço, and he literally told us to come teach him and his girlfriend! We literally walked to his house right then and there. They are so awesome and we will meet with them again this week.

Then we met Rosangela the same way. She is the funniest lady and has 3 kids, two boys and one baby girl. Before we taught them Vitor and Isac showed us literally all of their pictures they have ever drewn, and I was so so happy. They were playing and talking and what not during the lesson but as I got to the first vision they were silent and their eyes were all on me. As I was receiting the first vision I truly felt the spirit and like I was being an instrument in the hands of the Lord! When I finished Vitor said "conta mais!" "Tell more" and that is when I realized that I am where I need to be.

It rained every other day this week, because it does that a ton in the summer, go figure! But that did not stop us from meeting the greatest people and doing the Lords work! Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said, "His divine love and unfailing help will be with us even when we struggle - no, especially when we struggle." and I know that is true with all of my heart! So just keep going and trying and doing the Lords will and I promise you will see miracles.

I love you all and I know that Heavenly Father loves you more. Have the greatest week and look for the Lords hand in your days and I promise you will see it more than ever before!

Abraço,
Sister Albertoni
Last district photo because Elder M. Santos is going home TODAY.  They always make fun of me because I am white and have blonde hair.

We went bowling for our zone activity and I won.  Bowling has become a new hobby of mine.

Family and friends!

A couple weeks ago we were out of plans and everything had fallen through. So we were walking and saw a moça who was on her phone. We were both a little bumbed, but I felt like I had to talk to this lady. We were almost passing her and I realized that I really needed to talk to her! But she was on her phone and I didnt know what to do, but I stopped and talked to her. Her name is Josie, and she is the nicest person! She has a baby and is MARRIED!!!! A whole lot of people just live together and its hard to find a couple who are married, so milagre. We got her address and returned yesterday and taught her and her husband. They are so amazing and ready to receieve the gospel, and wow. Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers!

You know that feeling when you are just about to give up, and your discouraged and then bam! Heavenly Father blesses you, and helps you, and shows you why you are where you are, doing what you are doing!? Same.

I would invite you guys to look up the Christmas video the church made on lds.org #LightTheWorld It is so great and I know that as we serve others and really have a desire to be a light we will be given opportunities! I love you all and am so thankful for this Christmas season!

Have a good week and go out and serve!!

Abraço,

Sempre Brasil

November 28, 2016

Família e amigos!

I ate at McDonalds this week and McDonalds in Brasil is a billion times better than the ones in Utah, so.

We were making a contact with these teenagers and when they found out I am American they literally got so pumped! They asked me if I have ever met a famous person or been to california. The boy said that it was his first time ever talking to an American and he was on the verge of asking me for my autograph, I just know it! As we were about to leave the girl said that there is a different light about us. That we are full of joy!

Talk to everyone, be bold, and share the gospel! You never know who is ready to receive it. I love this gospel and I love you all! I hope you guys have the best week!

PS sorry about the whole english, portuguese is really throwing me off.

Much love,
Sister Albertoni

My zone! Jardim do Sol. We did a testimony meeting for our zone conference and wow, being a missionary rocks.
My old district leader and his companion who is from the same city as sister manhas!

um cachorro me mordeu

Feliz dia das graças!! We dont actually celebrate Thanksgiving, so I hope you all eat lots of turkey and stuffing for me and remember all that you are thankful for.

This week was full of miracles and happy people and lots of dogs.

So, we met Elianie who has lived here for only a short amount of time and naturally gave us the wrong house number. We met her in the street and when we went to find her house her son so happened to be outside!! Or else there is no way that we would have found her and this non existing number. So we taught her three times this week and it wasnt until the third visit that she realized we are Mormons, after we brought out the book. Lol. She has had a hard life but really wants to change and is so open to hearing and learning more.

Then we had a noite familiar with Fernanda. But that night it was raining, hard, and we were running late from our next appointment when our next miracle happened. WE GOT A CARONA (a ride!!). A couple from another ward stopped and drove us to the house of the family! But Fernanda had already passed the house of the member and she had returned home, but she said that she would come back. It was 40 minutes later and she still hadnt shown, but we decided that we would wait for the next car and it was FERNANDA!!

I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to serve in Brasil, in the greatest area, with the greatest people. I know that Heavenly Father knows you personally and that He blesses you with people for a reason. So to celebrate here are lots of pictures of people who I am thankful for here in Brasil!

my zone!! Sister F. Ferreira! We did splits for a week when I first got here and she lets me barrow her skirts.
Sister Manhas, my companion! She is always helping me with the language and is constantly happy.
The Sisters in my district. They are constantly making me laugh and they appreciate my efforts to make "foods american" (aka french toast)

And sister Ferreira because she really loves this photo and makes me laugh all the time.

I am truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for!!

Fazenda Rio Grande, abencoado

Familía e amigos,

Eu amo vocês, and I know that Heavenly Father trusts us an awful lot.

This week I was able to work with my new companion, Sister Manhas, and I adore her! I have already learned so much and I could not be more lucky to be in the greatest mission!

We met the greatest people and I am certain that Heavenly Father is preparing people to hear His gospel!

This week we met Fernanda. Her husband, Ricardo, was playing out side with their daughter and they accepted us with open arms! We taught about the plan of salvation and I truly felt guided by the spirit the whole time. I just opened my mouth and words came out and the spirit was there!! I am certain that as we are worthy and just doing our very best that Heavenly Father will do the rest. Fernanda said the closing prayer and started to cry, she said that she was grateful we were there and oh man. A couple days later we returned and asked how her week was. She told us that after we had left that there was a difference and that her family was more happy and that something had changed. I know that the church is true! I know that families can be forever through our Heavenly Fathers plan.

Life can be hard, that is why we are sent to earth! To learn and grow and wow, I am so grateful for the gospel. I know that through our difficulties that we have the ability to grow. We get to choose how we respond to the situations we are given and as we choose to rely on our Savoir I know that everything works for the better.

I realized that it is so important to learn more about our Savior and redeemer. Here in Brazil people are already decorating for Natal (Christmas) and it makes me a little too happy. So my convite por vocês (invitation for you) is to learn more about Him and realize how much He loves you!

The people here are great, and my companion is awesome, and I could not love Brasil more. Thank you for all of the love and support, I could not be more grateful!

abraço, e bom semana por vocês.

BRASIL PARA SEMPRE

Familia,

A igreja de Jesus Cristo dos santos dos últimos dias e verdadera.
I am now in the area of Fazenda Rio Grande and I could not be more blessed/excited/happy and wow! We are opening the area so we did a division with the other sisters in our ward and I was able to work with Sister F. Ferreira this week. I have never laughed so much or so often in my entire life. I am positive that Heavenly Father blesses us with the people that we need in our lifes at the perfect time! The people here are amazing and they are so prepared and ready and willing to accept the gospel and be baptized!
I met my #1 fan this week, Maiza who is 6 and has the curliest hair and stays by my side for every lesson. I love being a missionary and being surrounded by the greatest people who are the best examples in every way imaginable!!

So this week we left a lesson when we realized that Sis Ferreira forgot her umbrella in the house of a member. So we went back, got the umbrella and were leaving for the second time when a member stopped us. He had a referal for us and this family is so prepared and they are reading the book of mormon and want to learn more! Perfect timing, and everything happens for a reason. NO doubt.

I havent gotten to know my new companion super well, but she is the sister training leader for this area and I am so excited to learn from her! I dont have any pictures from this week, but stay tuned!

Things could not be better and I could not be happier. Make the best of every situation and know that Heavenly Father is watching out for you and has a HUGE plan for your life. Rely on Him and turn to the scriptures and search for answers. I promise you that as you come unto Christ that your burdens will be lightened and that you will be able to do anything and everything. I love you all and I am so thankful for the constant love and support!

Have the best week and go out and serve!!

feliz Dia das Bruxas

HAPPY HALLOWEEN,

Brasil doesn't really celebrate this holiday, and when I told my companion about trick or treating she could not stop laughing. She literally thought that the movies where kids are trick or treating was a joke.

I had the opportunity to go to the Curitiba Temple this past week and I am so thankful for temples! I would highly suggest you take the 30 minutes to drive to the temple and feel of your Heavenly Fathers love for you! He is so aware of you and your needs and He wants to answer your prayers. I am so confident in the fact that temples are houses of God.

I had the opportunity to hear from President Costa and he said that you can bec ome who you want to become. It is your choice! Except for in portuguese. BUT, it is so true! We are given the opportunity to choose who we want to be and the things we do and so much! We can become whoever we want. We can become the best of the best because we have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who are here for us every single day. I know that miracles can happen with goals backed by action. Work hard and put in the effort and you can accomplish amazing things!

I am being transfered from enterior to the city tomorrow, and I will miss the endless dogs in the street and being surrounded by the greatest people! But I know that Heavenly Father has a plan and that I need to go to Curitiba!

Heavenly Father knows and loves you!!!
Have a great week and a Happy Halloween!

sonho em portuguese

Hold up, its almost Halloween?!

So aparently I am talking in my sleep, in Portuguese, teaching lessons.

This week was so awesome and the spirit is real, and I am constantly learning how much I have to progress every single day! There is so much to learn about the gospel, and about the world, and I am so excited that I am here!

So I had 3 days worth of divisions, 2 days with the sister training leader, Sister John, (whos American and spoke english with me, bless her heart) and Sister Carneiro. Heavenly Father has placed you in the perfect place at the perfect time and for the perfect reason. It is so important that we are act on the promptings of the spirit, because I know that great things are possible with the help of the Lord!

So we were bata porta and no one was answering the door. Which is super weird, and we realized that we hadnt said a prayer before we left the house! So me and Sister Carneiro stood on the side of the road and said a prayer to be able to find someone to teach. Literally the next door we clapped at this joven answered and before I even finished talking she was opening the gate!! Her name is Ana and I already love her! Sister Carneiro is super quiet so I really had to just talk and try to follow the spirit and everything worked out! So say your prayers and ask for guidance, because I know that He will help you in every situation!

Then a couple houses later we bata in the house of Rosangela who just had a baby and has been having some family problems. I have no idea how she got comfortable with us, or what questions I asked, but she just started crying. I have never felt so much love and genuine concern, for someone that I had just met. I was guided in my words the whole time and my companion was super in tune with the spirit as well! I was literally so focused on her and the lesson and I didnt think twice about the language. I adore Rosanglea and we will definitely be seeing her again this week!

I know for certain that Heavenly Father knows and loves everyone of you! Dont ever doubt that for a second. I promise you that the plans He has for your life are greater and grander than anything you could ever imagine!!

Thank you for all the love and support and emails and letters! I could not be more blessed!

Bom semana por vocês,abraço

Sister Albertoni

homem, agencia

Então, this week I learned what it means to accept the fact that everyone has agency. And it is a lot easier said than done, that is for sure. BUT. I love it here, and I am so glad that I am able to meet the greatest people.

Tuesday we met am awesome family of 4 and I was on cloud nine after our first lesson with them! I was so confident and excited and sure that this family was going to accept the gospel whole heartedly. So we scedule our next appointment with them and the day comes around, and we get to their house for our second lesson. As we clap at the gate the dad comes out and says that this gospel just is not for them. Meu coração. I realized that nothing I can do or say will take away the fact that everyone has the ability to chose for themselves. PLUS. Heavenly Father has a plan for that family and maybe they will come to accept His gospel at a later time! It will all work out in the end, and its okay if I dont know how or when.

Also, had my first lesson where we sat on the concrete of a garage. My leg was soo asleep afterwards that I was literally stumbling on the way out. Yikes. But it doesnt matter where you are, the message is still the same and the gospel changes lives!

We had lunch at a members house yesterday, Irmã Edunilza, and she just started crying. She started telling us about what her family is going through, and I truly felt the love that Heavenly Father has for her and her family. I shared an experience and I realized that wow, everyone has hard times and trials and difficulties and the atonement and gospel is the answer to every heart ahce!! I am not kidding, no matter what it is that you are going through you can be comforted. That doesnt mean that things will work out the way you want, or that situations will necessarily change. But you have the ability to choose how you react to everything, and you can choose to be happy regardless! Also, always be nice and reach out to those around you!

So keep praying and searching and reading and doing the things you already know you need to do! I am so grateful for all of you and the influence you have each had in my life.

Have a great week!

sempre doente

Monday, October 10, 2016

Oi!

First off, the atonement is real!!! I am so sure that Jesus Christ suffered for you, personally, and He wants to help you and comfort you in every aspect of your life. I am positive that He loves you more than you could ever imagine and that He is waiting for you to open the door and let Him in.

My companion has been sick all week so it has been a little slow, but good! We met this awesome 17 year old, Emily who already has a book of mormon and wants to learn more! We actually contacted her brother, Jose, in the rua 2 times before we finally made our way to their house. The second time we visited Emily sat in and already knows so much!

I also had a divisão com Sister Falconi, and we met this cutest 86 year old who talked to us for a solid hour. I am not kidding, and then she asked why I wasnt talking, and then went straight into another story. She has so many stories and then kept asking why we werent married.

I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for your life! I am so sure that He is aware of you and that He wants you to return to him again! Search, ponder, and pray!! You will find answers to your prayers and a joy that you never knew existed.

Brasil rocks, I love being a missionary!

I love you all and am so thankful for your emails and letters and support! Have a bom semena!

Sister Albertoni

3 MONTHS

Family and friends!!

I am so blessed to be in Brasil and surrounded by the greatest people! I could not have asked for a better district or ward or mission president! Honestly, God blesses us with the best of the best!

This week was a little rocky and a bunch of our compromisses and investigators caiu. So, after lunch we were walking down the street  and Sister Oliveria realizes that my calfs are green. There were literally green strips, of who knows what, on my calfs?! We blamed it on Rafeel the cat, who lives at the persons house we had lunch at. So after we are making a contact with this nice guy and Sister Oliveria calls him Rafeel, and I just bust up. Yikes, but he didnt say anything and was super nice!

We visited Irmo Campos this week and he told me that his ex-wife, who I have met 2 times, said that I am super beautiful and she wants me to marry her son! I literally dont talk a whole lot, but the people here are just so accepting of me and the fact that Im from the U.S.

Our washing machine broke this week, so we got our bag of laundry and went over to Irma Terezina, who is basically our neighbor! She moved this past week and now she can wave to us through her apartment window and we see her! But she made us bala de chuva as we did our laundry.

A less active member, who I havent met, was at church yesterday! He said it was because I waved to him a couple days ago, and so he figuered he would go to church! Its the small and simple things!

Being a missionary is the coolest thing I have ever done and I am loving every second of it! We hiked to the Morro do Cristo today and I wore pants, so we had to document this special occasion!

ONE TRANSFER IN CAMPO

Familía e amigos!!

Eu sou grata por vocês em minha vida. Eu sei que o evangelho de Jesus Cristo e verdadeira. Eu sei que Deus nos ama!!

I cannot believe that I have already been in the mission field for a whole transfer! Sister Ferriera got transfered yesterday, so now it is just me and Sister Oliveria with one set of Elders in União. I am excited to continue working with the people here, and having two huge areas worth of people to love!

We visited a pesquisador (Analu)  this past week who we hadnt visited since we got put into a trio. The last time she was taught was when I did a division with Sister Ferriera when we werent companions, and she was closed off to the gospel. She didnt care to go to church or really continue learning about what we had to teach. But this time she was completely open and willing and eager to hear everything about the gospel! She had been praying a lot and really felt as though this is the church for her. She wants to learn all about the temple and gospel, and how everything works. I was soo surprised that this was the same investigator and that she was truly being prepared to fully accept the gospel. She came with us to a baptism on Saturday and church on Sunday! You guys, things dont happen in our timing because we are so imperfect. I know that Heavenly Father truly knows everything and has a plan for everyone! And now is when Analu is ready and prepared to accept His gospel! We set a baptismal date with her for the 1st, and I could not be more excited for her!

There was a baptism this past Saturday for Maria Inez, who has been investigating the church for a solid 7 months. My first day in the field we had lunch at her house, and I had no idea that she wasnt a member! It was so cool seeing her so happy with all of her family and friends and that she was finally able to be baptized! She bore her testimony after wards and oh man. The spirit is real, and the gospel changes and blesses lives!! There is no other way to say it or explain it, but I just want everyone to have this kind of happiness that the gospel brings!

We were walking home and saw an ice cream man and couldnt resist. So we get ice cream, and this guy is super into talking, and we get talking about the gospel, naturally. And he could not stop looking at me for some reason, and was trying to converse with me, and I have no idea what he is saying. So my companions reply to his questions and such, and he continues to look at me. He ended up saying that he has seen me before walking around, and that he recognized me but not my companions. Which is strange because I am always with them! But it made me realize that people notice me and the things I do, even if I dont recognize them. I promise I look the same as people here, so its not that he thought I was American from the way I look. It made me realize that I have to be more aware of the way that I act and that people truly do notice a difference! So be an example, and talk to everyone, and love those who you are surrounded by!

It rained and thundered a good majority of the day yesterday, and on our way to an investigators house I fell into a puddle. Literally biffed it. But its all good because this was the first time and it was bound to happen sooner or later!

I love you all and could not be more grateful for your emails and cards and packages and support!! Brasil is amazing, and the people are even better. I hope you all have the best week, and make the most of it! Study your scriptures, say your prayers, and perseverar ate o fim.

CAMPO POR UM MEZ

I have officially been in the mission field for one month!!

This is the last week of my first transfer, and I cannot believe how fast it has gone by! I am so blessed to be in the Reuniao as my primera area!

President Spencer W. Kimball said, "God does notice us, and He watches over us. But it is usually through another person that He meets our needs". And that could not be more true! Every day I am realizing how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by the people that I need right now. So I figured I might as well tell you about all of the blessings in my life agora!

Irmao MIlton (aka Tor, but they really mean Thor!) He is a member, and the greatest guy in town. Whenever we need a ride he is always willing to hook us up. Especially now that we have two areas to cover, we just call him and he comes to the rescue! And every time we have lunch at his house with his family he gives us chocolate. Literally a heaven sent man.

Irma Sandra. Just got done having pizza at her house! She is the sweetest old lady and she is always wanting to make us pão de quesjo, which is one of my favorite foods here for sure. She is less active, and has such a happy attitude and I just love talking to her! This past week when we went over to her house she had jello and pao de quesjo ready for us! And then she was telling us about this young man who works at a grocery store, who has a thing for american girls. So she is talking about how this guy wants to come over next time we eat there because I´´m american and I guess he has seen me around?! Literally the funniest thing and we could not stop laughing.

Then there is a new investigator, Allan who is 22 and literally a super star. He is so good at keeping commitments and he has a genuine desire to learn about the gospel! We just met him this past week and he came with us to a baptism, and he was at church yesterday!! He has a friend, Lucas, (who speaks english!!) that he brought with to the baptism. So he´s already inviting his friends to learn about the gospel as well! It is so crazy how things work out, and I really hope that he continues to progress!

The other day we were trying to find the house of a less active member for a solid two hours in the sun. Finally, after we had back tracked a billion times and asked 5 different people for directions, we found the house. And get this, it turns out the less active members had moved a week before!! But it was a good experience and made me realize the importance of street signs and good directions.

I truly love being a missionary! It is hands down the hardest thing, but I am learning so much every day! I know that Heavenly Father loves His children. I know that He is wanting and waiting to bless you with the things you stand in need of! I also know that He sees the bigger picture and that the things that happen are for our benefit.

I love you all loads and I could not be more thankful for all the love and support I continually receieve!

Muito tempo,aka 1 month n Curitiba

FAMILY,
I dont have a lot of time, but Heavenly Father answers our prayers. He is so aware of us and He knows exactly what we need and who we need. This week the only American in my zone got transfered and I was so sad! It has definitely been more difficult being the only person who speaks english here, but I have learned how awesome the atonement is!
Jesus Christ suffered and died so that we don~t ever have to feel alone. I know that He knows YOU and that He has such a great plan for your life!! I am now in a trio until this next transfer, so double pros at portuguese!!
I love you all and am so thankful for your thoughts/cards/emails/prayers!!!
Much love,
Sister Albertoni

2 MONTHS

I have been serving a mission for 2 MONTHS TODAY!!! Holy, crazy.

This week was such a good learning experience and I had a billion different experiences where my prayers were answered and my faith was strengthened.

So Suelle was suppose to get baptized this past Saturday and she was ready to go. But when we got to her house on Saturday before the baptism she was not excited at all. We got to talking to her and she felt like she just was not ready to be baptized and my heart sunk and I didnt know if I was understanding her correctly. I was literally so bumbed and I didnt know what to do or say or if I could have done something more. After we left her house we called our district leader and he said to just invite her to see the baptism of two boys that the elders were going to baptize. So we go back to her house and invite her and she decided to come with us!! This was my first time seeing a baptism here in Brasil, and I have not been that excited/happy/over whelmed with joy since I got here. It was literally the coolest thing seeing these two boys be baptized! It made me want to teach everyone about the gospel! How cool is it that we can be cleansed from our sins?!? Ahh. Love it. I cannot imagine what it is like when it is someone who I helped teach about the gospel being baptized!

We fasted Saturday to find a family who is ready to receieve the gospel, and I just felt so much reassurance that we would be able to find people who are preparing themselves!

So we went out and met the cutest girl who seemed genuinely interested in our message! The next day we were on our way to an investigators house and he wasnt home. So we keep walking and we ran into a guy who we taught a couple days ago who walked us to his house to teach his mom. After we taught her she gave us a referal to teach one of her neighbors. Marcie and Sebastion are the neighbors names, and they are incredible. They have a lot of health problems, but they have SO much faith. I felt the spirit sooo strongly while listening to Sister Oliveria teach and as they shared experieneces. I mean I may not be fluent, but that does not stop the spirit for even a second. They are so excited about the gospel and want to learn more, which is awesome!!! Then they gave us a referal for a different neighbor who we are going to teach next week. Literally all day we were lead to the perfect people at just the right time.

Irma Sandra called us over to teach two of her friends!! So she trustes us enough, with people that she is close to, to share the gospel. Guys, Heavenly Father knows us and He is literally preparing people to hear about His gospel. It has been such a testimony builder and I know that this is where I need to be! Even if I cannot speak perfectly, and my accent is the most aparent thing in the world, people are so accepting. People dont realize that I am not Brazilian by just my looks. So when I start talking people are so confused about where I am from and why I talk the way I do. One investigator could not believe that I wasnt from Curitiba, and another thought I was from Bolivia?!

I truly love it here and I am beyond thankful for all of the love and support that I continuley receieve. I am super sorry about my lack of typing/spelling abilities. Pretty sure it is because I am surrounded by Portuguese 24/7. But I love you all!

I AM IN THE CAMPO

FAMILY AND FRIENDS, I MADE IT.

I am serving in Reuniao da Victoria with Sister Oliveria who does not speak a word of English! She is so great and I use my dictionary only a billion times a day. This week was definitely an eye opening one and I have so much to learn and do and be! I met a ton of members, investigators, and less active people who I already love. The people here are huggers, which I am definitely not, so that~s new but soo good. Everyone is so friendly and willing to talk/listen.

People are always willing to give us food, which is soooo good. I love Brazilian food and people and this place! A member makes us lunch every day and then random people we visit will give us bread or cake and I am literally in heaven. There are trees EVERYWHERE and I do not know how I got so lucky to start my mission in the prettiest place.

This week our investigators Daneille and Suelle and baby Eric came with us to church and they have a baptism date for next week!!! You guys, I am blessed and I feel your love and prayers every single day. I know that I will continue to struggle and learn and grow closer to my Heavenly Father.

I hope that you are all doing amazing and I am truly blessed to have you all in my life. Whenever you are feeling bad or sad just think about how ridiculous I sound trying to speak portugueuse. Lol.

SOOO much love,
Sister Albertoni

WEEK 5/6???

LAST P DAY IN THE MTC, WHAAATTT.

I was asked to play the hymns for the devotional again this past Sunday. I definitely didn~t think that I would be asked this much, especially while in the MTC. I was also asked to put together a small group, less than 8 people, to sing and play for a devotional next week. How crazy is that? And the people I asked are all SOOO talented.

We went proselyting for the second time Saturday. except for this time we only had 6 livro de Mormons to hand out per companionship. We had one book left so I prayed in my heart to be guided to someone who really needed it. We kept walking and saw a lady walk out of a store who looked distressed, so we decided to tlak to her. She was so surprised that we were reaching out and offering her the greatest book in the world. As we were talking she just starts crying and I have never felt the spirit so strongly and so fast through a complete stranger. She told us about how yesterday she prayed to receive an answer/guidance and we were that answer. Out of no where I start crying and am over whelmed with the love that Heavenly Father has for her. it was a miracle that we understood each other and that we were at the right place at the right time. we got her contact information and she is wanting to learn more about the church! She also wrote down, thanks for being you/ existing!!! Except for in Portuguese. ugh. How did I get sooo blessed??
I love my Heavenly Father for loving me enough to give me opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone. I know taht as we willingly and eagerly do HIs will we will see miracles.

I got a letter this week telling me that I should not be afraid to share my testimony, because I never know the impact it can have on someones life. I have been blaming my lack of testifying on my inability to speak Portuguese fluently. But you know what? There are always going to be a billion excuses why you shouldn't do something. BUUTT whenever you are prompted, or feel the need, to do something good there is a reason. Heavenly Father will help you with whatever He asks of you.

D and C 6:36 "Buscai-me em cada pensamento. Não duvidas, não termais"

You truly never know the influence or  impact you can have, would have, or will have on someones life. I could not be more thankful for all the love and prayers. You have each made an impact on my life and I thank my Heavnely Father for the opportunity to know all of you. In 6 days I will be heading out of Sao Paulo to the campo em CURITIBA SUL!!!!!!

God loves you, put your trust in him. Read your scriptures and say your prayers.

Much love,

Sister Albertoni

PS. I sleep talk in PORTUGUESE. Hollllaaaaaa.

WEEK 4 AHHHH

FAM AND FRIENDS!!

So I just realized as I was practicing palavras that Friends is more applicable then I thought. This episode where Pheobe is trying to teach Joey french, and he cannot pronounce it right is the same as me and sister Karren! It is so relatable at this point. We can say words in parts, but putting it together we say completely different things. hahah.

We had a member of the 70 come and it was such a good experience. I was able to play the hymns to the best of my abilities, even though my hands were shaking and I was beyond nervous! So shout out to momma C for making me stick with piano lessons. Singing also went super well! We practiced a couple times in front of everyone, and thankfully the last time was the best time. I was able to feel so much joy and graditude and relief that I stepped outside of my comfort zone. It was such a humbling, yet confidence building, experience. President Growl asked me to play hymns while the member of the 70 was shaking everyones hands. Which was the humbling part, because I am far from familiar with the various Brazilian hymns. You know what the crazy part is? I got asked to play humns for the devotional the next day! We sure do have a loving and trusting Heavenly Father. He wants us to have the best experiences and opportunities, and He provides a way when we do our part.

I practically broke an elders face during volleyball the other dia. I was returning a serve and the ball smacked him face on. Hes Brazilian so I just kept saying desculpe, poor guy. I must have been getting too confident in my volleyball skills (,: He~s fine though! No black eye or anything!

We got new Brazilian roommates, and one of them is serving in Curitiba Sul! holla! They both speak english and are super nice, so I could not be more grateful.

During Sunday devotional a sister quoted Lion King, "Look inside of you, you are more than what you have become. " We all have so much potential and Heaven ly Father is just waiting for us to realize that! We can change, we can do better, we can grow and progresse every day.

I have learned that Heavenly Father wans nothing more than to bless us. I have seen His hand in every experience I have had here at the CTM. He will guide us when we put our trust in Him.

I was sitting at a table by myself, waiting for my companbion, during breakfast and a c ouple of elders and sisters sat by me and acted as if we were the best of friends. People are so friendly and willing to reach out. the Brazilians are also super patient with me and my portuguese, which is a HUGE blessing.

I could not be more thankful for your prayers and emails and letters! I am constantly seeing the Lords hands and I am muito animada to share this evangelho com pessas em Curitiba Sul!

Much love,

Sister Albertoni

WEEK 4

FAMILY AND FRIENDS,

Proseletismo was on Saturday and I love this gospel SOOO MUCH!!!! Many voices in the world compete for your attention, and they can easily drwon out spiritual impressions if you are not careful.

It was such a crazy cool experience! We gave away all 10 of the Book of Mormons in an hour! There were several times when my companion and I got turned down, but people were nice and willing to talk. There was a man who gave us each a picture that he drew and kept calling us beautiful!!

We were at a cross walk talking to a couple of sisters and they could not understand what we were saying. SSo out of the blue this nice woman comes over to us and starts talking to the sisters about the church and how it is true. It was such a blessing because one of the sisters accepted a book of mormon, and who knows the impact it will have in her life. It is so cool knowing that Heavnly Father loves and cares for His Children! We were doing our best with the language, so He sent a little extra help to get the message across.

There was a man who stopped us and told us about how some elders gave him a book of mormon last week. He~s an author, and has really enjoyed reading the book. It was cool how he took the time to be nice, and it just goies to show that people are willing to open their minds to new ideas.

We even saw a man sitting on a bench reading a book of mormon and ahhh, how did I get so blessed to be here right now::^The lords hand is everywhere, you just have to look for it.

English fast!! I went a whole day from 6am to 10pm speaking complete portuguese!! It made me think of not only what to say in portuguese, but if what I wanted to say wasworth saying at all. It showed me that I have come a long way in 3 weeks, but I definitely have a long way to go.

Devtional! I got asked to play the opening and closing hymns and sing a verse of I am a child of God by myself!!! This Saturday when a member of the 70 will be here to speak!! HOw crazy is that??? I am beyond nervous but so honered to have such an amazing opportunity. So prayers are more than welcome because I  will need all the help I can get. Use your talents whenever and where ever you can. I am so lucky to have thee most talented family and friends and I know that all of you have so muhcc to offer!!

Portuguese!! I am starting to understand more everyday! IT is truly amazing thinking about the progress that has taken place in just 3 weeks. The gift of tongues isnot what I thought it would be, but it is so real! I know Heavenly Father would not have semt me to brazil if He knew I coulnd~t learn Portuguese.

Scripture study! I would challenge you guys to start your scriptures tudy by writing questions or doubts you may have, say a prayer, and then just pick up where you left off. I promise you that if you have an open heart and mind that you will receive personal revelation, so write it down!! Heavenly Father is waiting to help and bless you with anything and everything you stand in neeed of.

Ey sei que Deus amores Ele filhos. I am thankful for your thoughts, prayers, and emails. I would not be where I am or have the opportunity to become who I need to be without all of you!!
Read your scriptures, say your prayers, and look up a good joke in Portuguese to tell me!!!

Much love,

Sister Albertoni

Week 3 WWHHAATTT

Amigas e amigos,

If you ever get the chance to go to Brasil, I would highly recommend taking it!

Yesterday I had a a Brazilian companion for a few hours, where we got to teach and be taught. Sister Santos is my companion this week and she is so good at teaching the gospel! We taught about the Restoration, and I was able to read the First Vision in Portuguese. The spirit was SO strong, even though my Portuguese is not very good and it is not quite memorized. Heavenly Father knows how hard I am trying, and He is blessing me for my efforts dailey.

On Sunday we had a devotional by a mission president serving in Sao Paulo and holy cow. He talked about the Holy Ghost and I never head a talk more perfectly applicable to me. We need to act on the good thought/ promptings we receive. The first whispering, telling you to serve others etc, is from the Spirit. The second whispering (doubt, dismissal, talking yourself out of it) is from Satan. Always listen to the first, still, small voice! Always act on the good thought/feelings you receive. Even if you don~t know hwy, even if it takes you out of your comfort zone so FAÇA!!!!

I just got back from the temple and there is literally graffiti everywhere! It is super impressive the various buildings and hights that people are able to graffiti. Plus they are some super impressive ones! There are also loads of crazy cool trees every where and buildings (talking gigantic buildings) everywhere! Google Sao Paulo, I love it an awful lot! I think it is one of the most populated places in the world:! But I could definitely be wrong.

We went to the police station last week for some visa things and I ended up standing by a nice lady! So she tried talking to me and I could not really understand her, but I felt God~s love for her. I wanted so badly to answer her questions and communicate effectively, but I did the best that I could. And that is all Heavenly Father asks of us! So there is no need to get frustrated or mad over things that you can not control.

There are so many people tat the CTM that look like Brazilian versions from people at home. It is the weirdest thing, but definitely a tender mercy. Plus there are literally 4 sets of gênomes (twins)!!!! A ton of my Brazilian friends left to the mission field yesterday, and it just goes to show that I wont actually be at the CTM for the rest of my life. Lol.

Launche, the best part of my night. They bring us little like bed time snacks at 9 pm with either crackers, granola like bars, and chocolate turtles with juice boxes!! It is almost ridiculous how excited my district gets over those bags of heaven. It really is the small things that make all the difference!!

I love you all, and I am so thankful for all your thoughts and prayers. I am so privileged to be where I am and to feel the spirit so strongly every day!!

Much love,

Sister Albertoni

July 6, 2016

Oi familia e amigos,   i LOVE BRASIL! It is so beautiful here and i
have already learned a ton. i am no where close to understanding/
speaking portuguese, but i know it will come. we taught our first
investigator, rollnaldo, (who is really my instructer) the second day
in the CTM in PORTUGUESE!! It gets frustrating not being able to
understand ronaldo, or my companions. it is definitely not easy
wanting to say something but not knowing how. I know that as I try and
study it will become easier. plus the language is such a small barrier
compared to the impact the holy ghost has! He agrred to baptism after
our third lesson!! woooooo. I was so overjoyed and i cannot wait until
I can affectively communicate with real people searching for the
gospel. Every meal consists of meat, rice and beans, bread, and
fruit/salad, plus loads of juice! everything is pretty good for the
most part. Oh happy late 4th of Joly!! we celebrated with brazilian
hot dogs, friends and sloppy joes. I got a new companion last night. I
was in a tri panionship with sister councill and sister patteee but
some changes were made in the district and now sister karren is my
panion! I am so excited for the opportunity to learn from and work
with her! we had a devotional last night where we watched a recording
of a devo a year ago and i was so excited that the video was going to
sing in english. so naturally, being super pumped, i just moved my
tongue super fast! and a brazilian elder behind me saw and started
busting up! Trhen he was speaking portuguese (which I não fala) to his
amigos and they all started laughting at me! I~m like 95% sure, at
least. so making friends one embarrising moment at a time. I really do
love it here and i am so blessed to have the opportunity to strive and
struggle one day at a time. I know heavenly father is aware of us, and
is waiting to pour out blessings when we do our part. I have gained an
appreciation for so much that I took advantage of before. Don~t forget
that he has a plan greater than anything you could ever imagine. I
love you all, and I know that if I can learn Portuguese than you can
do anything!!!!!                     Love Sister Albertoni ps the
enter button doesn~t work and the keyboard is different. I promise I
didn~t already forget how to type or spell. hahah.

We got here probably only an hour or so ago to the Brazil MTC and it is so beautiful and a place where the spirit can be felt.

I am in a trio companionship, but the third girl will be getting here tomorrow. Sister Pattee and Sister Council SOO EXCITED. I know that I am suppose to learn so much from these sisters who are also going to serve in the Curitiba South Mission!! I met 4 boys at the Salt Lake airport who are all going to serve in the same mission as well!! What are the odds?! I am so blessed that my Heavenly Father knows me well enough to put me with the people that I need to meet.

A young man on his way to basic training stopped and talked to me at the airport and it was so great!! I know that the church is true and that everything happens for a reason and with a purpose.

Called to Serve

Dear Sister Albertoni:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Brazil Curitiba South Mission...

I cannot even begin to express the love that I already feel for the people of Curitiba. I know that this is where I need to go, and that the people there will change my life for the better. I am so fortunate to have such an incredible opportunity to teach in Portuguese, and to be able to serve His children. I am so anxious and ready to get out to the mission field to grow and learn and progress more than I could ever imagine.

I want you all to know that I love you and that our Heavenly Father loves you!! He is so aware of you and all that you have gone through, are going through, and will go through. Thank you for all of the love, support, and kindness.

Much love,
(Soon to be) Sister Albertoni
