ONE TRANSFER IN CAMPO

Familía e amigos!!

Eu sou grata por vocês em minha vida. Eu sei que o evangelho de Jesus Cristo e verdadeira. Eu sei que Deus nos ama!!

I cannot believe that I have already been in the mission field for a whole transfer! Sister Ferriera got transfered yesterday, so now it is just me and Sister Oliveria with one set of Elders in União. I am excited to continue working with the people here, and having two huge areas worth of people to love!

We visited a pesquisador (Analu)  this past week who we hadnt visited since we got put into a trio. The last time she was taught was when I did a division with Sister Ferriera when we werent companions, and she was closed off to the gospel. She didnt care to go to church or really continue learning about what we had to teach. But this time she was completely open and willing and eager to hear everything about the gospel! She had been praying a lot and really felt as though this is the church for her. She wants to learn all about the temple and gospel, and how everything works. I was soo surprised that this was the same investigator and that she was truly being prepared to fully accept the gospel. She came with us to a baptism on Saturday and church on Sunday! You guys, things dont happen in our timing because we are so imperfect. I know that Heavenly Father truly knows everything and has a plan for everyone! And now is when Analu is ready and prepared to accept His gospel! We set a baptismal date with her for the 1st, and I could not be more excited for her!

There was a baptism this past Saturday for Maria Inez, who has been investigating the church for a solid 7 months. My first day in the field we had lunch at her house, and I had no idea that she wasnt a member! It was so cool seeing her so happy with all of her family and friends and that she was finally able to be baptized! She bore her testimony after wards and oh man. The spirit is real, and the gospel changes and blesses lives!! There is no other way to say it or explain it, but I just want everyone to have this kind of happiness that the gospel brings!

We were walking home and saw an ice cream man and couldnt resist. So we get ice cream, and this guy is super into talking, and we get talking about the gospel, naturally. And he could not stop looking at me for some reason, and was trying to converse with me, and I have no idea what he is saying. So my companions reply to his questions and such, and he continues to look at me. He ended up saying that he has seen me before walking around, and that he recognized me but not my companions. Which is strange because I am always with them! But it made me realize that people notice me and the things I do, even if I dont recognize them. I promise I look the same as people here, so its not that he thought I was American from the way I look. It made me realize that I have to be more aware of the way that I act and that people truly do notice a difference! So be an example, and talk to everyone, and love those who you are surrounded by!

It rained and thundered a good majority of the day yesterday, and on our way to an investigators house I fell into a puddle. Literally biffed it. But its all good because this was the first time and it was bound to happen sooner or later!

I love you all and could not be more grateful for your emails and cards and packages and support!! Brasil is amazing, and the people are even better. I hope you all have the best week, and make the most of it! Study your scriptures, say your prayers, and perseverar ate o fim.

CAMPO POR UM MEZ

I have officially been in the mission field for one month!!

This is the last week of my first transfer, and I cannot believe how fast it has gone by! I am so blessed to be in the Reuniao as my primera area!

President Spencer W. Kimball said, "God does notice us, and He watches over us. But it is usually through another person that He meets our needs". And that could not be more true! Every day I am realizing how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by the people that I need right now. So I figured I might as well tell you about all of the blessings in my life agora!

Irmao MIlton (aka Tor, but they really mean Thor!) He is a member, and the greatest guy in town. Whenever we need a ride he is always willing to hook us up. Especially now that we have two areas to cover, we just call him and he comes to the rescue! And every time we have lunch at his house with his family he gives us chocolate. Literally a heaven sent man.

Irma Sandra. Just got done having pizza at her house! She is the sweetest old lady and she is always wanting to make us pão de quesjo, which is one of my favorite foods here for sure. She is less active, and has such a happy attitude and I just love talking to her! This past week when we went over to her house she had jello and pao de quesjo ready for us! And then she was telling us about this young man who works at a grocery store, who has a thing for american girls. So she is talking about how this guy wants to come over next time we eat there because I´´m american and I guess he has seen me around?! Literally the funniest thing and we could not stop laughing.

Then there is a new investigator, Allan who is 22 and literally a super star. He is so good at keeping commitments and he has a genuine desire to learn about the gospel! We just met him this past week and he came with us to a baptism, and he was at church yesterday!! He has a friend, Lucas, (who speaks english!!) that he brought with to the baptism. So he´s already inviting his friends to learn about the gospel as well! It is so crazy how things work out, and I really hope that he continues to progress!

The other day we were trying to find the house of a less active member for a solid two hours in the sun. Finally, after we had back tracked a billion times and asked 5 different people for directions, we found the house. And get this, it turns out the less active members had moved a week before!! But it was a good experience and made me realize the importance of street signs and good directions.

I truly love being a missionary! It is hands down the hardest thing, but I am learning so much every day! I know that Heavenly Father loves His children. I know that He is wanting and waiting to bless you with the things you stand in need of! I also know that He sees the bigger picture and that the things that happen are for our benefit.

I love you all loads and I could not be more thankful for all the love and support I continually receieve!

Muito tempo,aka 1 month n Curitiba

FAMILY,
I dont have a lot of time, but Heavenly Father answers our prayers. He is so aware of us and He knows exactly what we need and who we need. This week the only American in my zone got transfered and I was so sad! It has definitely been more difficult being the only person who speaks english here, but I have learned how awesome the atonement is!
Jesus Christ suffered and died so that we don~t ever have to feel alone. I know that He knows YOU and that He has such a great plan for your life!! I am now in a trio until this next transfer, so double pros at portuguese!!
I love you all and am so thankful for your thoughts/cards/emails/prayers!!!
Much love,
Sister Albertoni
