2 MONTHS
I have been serving a mission for 2 MONTHS TODAY!!! Holy, crazy.
This
week was such a good learning experience and I had a billion different
experiences where my prayers were answered and my faith was
strengthened.
So Suelle was suppose to get baptized this past Saturday and she was ready to go. But when we got to her house on Saturday
before the baptism she was not excited at all. We got to talking to her
and she felt like she just was not ready to be baptized and my heart
sunk and I didnt know if I was understanding her correctly. I was
literally so bumbed and I didnt know what to do or say or if I could
have done something more. After we left her house we called our district
leader and he said to just invite her to see the baptism of two boys
that the elders were going to baptize. So we go back to her house and
invite her and she decided to come with us!! This was my first time
seeing a baptism here in Brasil, and I have not been that
excited/happy/over whelmed with joy since I got here. It was literally
the coolest thing seeing these two boys be baptized! It made me want to
teach everyone about the gospel! How cool is it that we can be cleansed
from our sins?!? Ahh. Love it. I cannot imagine what it is like when it
is someone who I helped teach about the gospel being baptized!
We fasted Saturday
to find a family who is ready to receieve the gospel, and I just felt
so much reassurance that we would be able to find people who are
preparing themselves!
So we went out and met
the cutest girl who seemed genuinely interested in our message! The next
day we were on our way to an investigators house and he wasnt home. So
we keep walking and we ran into a guy who we taught a couple days ago
who walked us to his house to teach his mom. After we taught her she
gave us a referal to teach one of her neighbors. Marcie and Sebastion
are the neighbors names, and they are incredible. They have a lot of
health problems, but they have SO much faith. I felt the spirit sooo
strongly while listening to Sister Oliveria teach and as they shared
experieneces. I mean I may not be fluent, but that does not stop the
spirit for even a second. They are so excited about the gospel and want
to learn more, which is awesome!!! Then they gave us a referal for a
different neighbor who we are going to teach next week. Literally all
day we were lead to the perfect people at just the right time.
Irma
Sandra called us over to teach two of her friends!! So she trustes us
enough, with people that she is close to, to share the gospel. Guys,
Heavenly Father knows us and He is literally preparing people to hear
about His gospel. It has been such a testimony builder and I know that
this is where I need to be! Even if I cannot speak perfectly, and my
accent is the most aparent thing in the world, people are so accepting.
People dont realize that I am not Brazilian by just my looks. So when I
start talking people are so confused about where I am from and why I
talk the way I do. One investigator could not believe that I wasnt from
Curitiba, and another thought I was from Bolivia?!
I
truly love it here and I am beyond thankful for all of the love and
support that I continuley receieve. I am super sorry about my lack of
typing/spelling abilities. Pretty sure it is because I am surrounded by
Portuguese 24/7. But I love you all!

I AM IN THE CAMPO
FAMILY AND FRIENDS, I MADE IT.
I am
serving in Reuniao da Victoria with Sister Oliveria who does not speak a
word of English! She is so great and I use my dictionary only a billion
times a day. This week was definitely an eye opening one and I have so
much to learn and do and be! I met a ton of members, investigators, and
less active people who I already love. The people here are huggers,
which I am definitely not, so that~s new but soo good. Everyone is so
friendly and willing to talk/listen.
People
are always willing to give us food, which is soooo good. I love
Brazilian food and people and this place! A member makes us lunch every
day and then random people we visit will give us bread or cake and I am
literally in heaven. There are trees EVERYWHERE and I do not know how I
got so lucky to start my mission in the prettiest place.
This
week our investigators Daneille and Suelle and baby Eric came with us
to church and they have a baptism date for next week!!! You guys, I am
blessed and I feel your love and prayers every single day. I know that I
will continue to struggle and learn and grow closer to my Heavenly
Father.
I hope that you are all doing amazing
and I am truly blessed to have you all in my life. Whenever you are
feeling bad or sad just think about how ridiculous I sound trying to
speak portugueuse. Lol.
SOOO much love,
Sister Albertoni

WEEK 5/6???
LAST P DAY IN THE MTC, WHAAATTT.
I was asked to play the hymns for the devotional again this past Sunday.
I definitely didn~t think that I would be asked this much, especially
while in the MTC. I was also asked to put together a small group, less
than 8 people, to sing and play for a devotional next week. How crazy is
that? And the people I asked are all SOOO talented.
We
went proselyting for the second time Saturday. except for this time we
only had 6 livro de Mormons to hand out per companionship. We had one
book left so I prayed in my heart to be guided to someone who really
needed it. We kept walking and saw a lady walk out of a store who looked
distressed, so we decided to tlak to her. She was so surprised that we
were reaching out and offering her the greatest book in the world. As we
were talking she just starts crying and I have never felt the spirit so
strongly and so fast through a complete stranger. She told us about how
yesterday she prayed to receive an answer/guidance and we were that
answer. Out of no where I start crying and am over whelmed with the love
that Heavenly Father has for her. it was a miracle that we understood
each other and that we were at the right place at the right time. we got
her contact information and she is wanting to learn more about the
church! She also wrote down, thanks for being you/ existing!!! Except
for in Portuguese. ugh. How did I get sooo blessed??
I
love my Heavenly Father for loving me enough to give me opportunities
to step outside of my comfort zone. I know taht as we willingly and
eagerly do HIs will we will see miracles.
I got
a letter this week telling me that I should not be afraid to share my
testimony, because I never know the impact it can have on someones life.
I have been blaming my lack of testifying on my inability to speak
Portuguese fluently. But you know what? There are always going to be a
billion excuses why you shouldn't do something. BUUTT whenever you are
prompted, or feel the need, to do something good there is a reason.
Heavenly Father will help you with whatever He asks of you.
D and C 6:36 "Buscai-me em cada pensamento. Não duvidas, não termais"
You
truly never know the influence or impact you can have, would have, or
will have on someones life. I could not be more thankful for all the
love and prayers. You have each made an impact on my life and I thank my
Heavnely Father for the opportunity to know all of you. In 6 days I will be heading out of Sao Paulo to the campo em CURITIBA SUL!!!!!!
God loves you, put your trust in him. Read your scriptures and say your prayers.
Much love,
Sister Albertoni
PS. I sleep talk in PORTUGUESE. Hollllaaaaaa.
